Help! Barbecue - and red lights.
I feel like I torture this board with endless posts so I'll combine two vital questions in one post.
1). I don't like pork. I just don't, unless it's tiny pieces in pork fried rice. I like BRISKET at my barbecue places. Is that available, and will the waitress tell me off and spit in my food?
2). This has happened to me three times already: I'm at a light that has a right turn signal and the right turn signal is red. It's not just a red light, but a right turn light. People went around me and went through the red light to make their right. Um am I supposed to wait at that light as it seems like it to me, or is there a secret red means go for these things?
Thanks!

If you are going to local NC sort of place, don't even bother asking for beef....they won't have it. It's pork - eastern or western. Not sure what they'd think of the question, but they'd probably good-naturedly laugh if nothing else. You may be able to find other sorts at restaurants set-up specifically for that style (Texas or Memphis etc)....it could take some asking around though.
Red lights are often abused in the state.....lol....nothing secret, some folks are just insane and just don't take them seriously.

I love beef barbeque, Chicken is my second however I don't care for pork at all...its a regional thing I'm sure. You might have to start making it at home...try a nice dry rub and cook it in your oven at 200 degrees until its done. That is assuming you don't have a smoker, they say that hickory supplimented with fruit woods is good because all hickory makes the meat taste bitter.

You can turn right on red unless there is a sign stating otherwise.

I have seen in many places where they sell cue them also selling shredded chicken or fried chicken. I do have a friend who will not eat pork I met n NC. She bought a smoker and smoked her own chicken and beef. If pork is not for you then decide where you are going to eat and call to see if they serve other items before you go there.
Pork cue is a NC staple. Most of the cue I have ever eaten was lean and smoked for hours so it was flavorful and it is the other white meat.
I know this is going to sound bad but how about trying a bite before you say NO? If you taste it with the vinegar and pepper sauce and you do not like it at least you can say, hey I tried.

Red Hot and Blue is a chain restaurant that makes really good beef brisket & Memphis style BBQ. There is one in Cary and another in North Raleigh.
Yum!
