Also stay away from the Melba or Normandie. If you want a drink, head elsewhere. Those places are no good. Never been to Normandie but I've heard it isn't pleasant, and the Melba is a dump. There are a few shady characters but most can be ignored and probably couldn't harm a fly. All in all it's really not that bad.
Actually, The Normandie isnt all THAT bad.. I have business reasons to go there on occasion {legit, LOL} Its definitely blue collar, and isnt anywhere close to the Raddison, but it isnt a sh%thole either.. I wouldnt set foot in the Melba... If I had to I would shake my clothes out before I went home!

There was a S-10 blazer stolen from the front of the Normandie not too long ago while the owner was in the bar.....

Yeah, I feel you could catch something fierce just by breathing the air of the inside of the Melba. I just figured "Well the Melba sucks, so I guess I'll just steer clear of Normandie," so I was pretty much judging a book by it's cover to be honest. I'm picky with my bars, I like them calm and quiet, enough to relax and have a conversation without screaming. Melba was quiet, but I felt too out of place and bailed.
