Hi there!

My family and I are looking to purchase a vacation home in PA. We have been looking mostly in WLE but the houses for sale are minimal and much more $$ then we can spend. My parents built a home in WLE but ended selling in the 90's so we know what the community was like then. We recently visited WLE and not much has change which is nice! We loved the community in WLE back then, quiet family oriented, easy access to Lake Wallenpaupack, golf cart/ATV use etc.
We have looked in Tanglewood, Masthope and Spinnler's Point. None of those communities were for us. Now we are looking to check out The Hideout but quite frankly I am having a hard time finding any recent reviews on the community. The reason we are wanting to look there is because there are more houses for sale and more NICE houses for sale within our price range. WLE is very limited on the houses for sale within our budget.
Is anyone around who can offer some more recent information on The Hideout? I would specifically like to know about boating slips available on Lake Wallenpaupack through The Hideout, Is there ATV and Golf cart use allowed throughout the community, how are the beaches within the community and pools, is it more of a family atmosphere or vacation rental community, is it crowded, septic or sewer etc?
I would love to hear from anyone who owns in both or either development and can give me their opinions.

Thank you!

Danie

We own a house in WLE since 2008. We unfortunately bought at the height of the market and it is not worth what we paid for. But that aside, we love it there. Yes, it can be a little strict. But that's ok.
It is a place we may look into when we retire. The kids really have great memories of being there and spending weekend after weekend there.
Golf carts are allowed.
I have not really heard wonderful things about The Hideout.

You should take a look at Hemlock Farms. I have lived here for over 13 years, and I would never live anywhere else.
