Looking for a nice, romantic, reasonably priced restaurant with excellent food. Something that has a "different menu" too. Don't want the same old stuff. I am in Wilkes-Barre, so I prefer suggestions in the Wyoming Valley area, but would take a ride for an outstanding place too. Thanks

I live in Wilkes-Barre too as I guess you know. What about Cork? (North End) The Bistro(Kingston)
Isabella(Wilkes-Barre)

All nice, good food stylish. Happy Valentines Day!

Sounds good, but I'd call first - they close on Tuesdays.

As far as today is concerned, I hope you've made a reservation somewhere. One year, the hubs and I (he didn't believe in calling ahead), went out for Valentine's Day. Four "all booked up" restaurants later, we found a Chinese place on Market St in W-B/Kingston. (Nice place but it's long gone now.) Anyway, we were seated promptly. Our order was taken promptly. A half dozen beers later, we still had no food. I even attempted to buy one party's take-out bag. A bowl of something appeared on our table. Something we hadn't ordered. But we were hungry so we ate it. Finally, a lovely meal arrived - nothing we had asked for - and an apology with the explanation that one of the cooks had quit! Our meal was on the house. We never again went out on Valentine's Day.

Be sure to let us know where you ended up.

Feb. 14th...corporate love day. Anyways, for Valentine's day, best off to go to dinner a day or a few days before to beat the crowds of sheep and the jacked up prices.

Murphy's Loft on Rt.115 in Blakesleeis a Rustic log cabinesque restaurant and bar. Food is very good, with a nice bar for after dinner.
I would also suggest Tannersville Inn or Smugglers Cove across the street.

If I were to get good food in the Wyoming Valley, I'd probably hit up Sonic. Possibly Theo's Metro. Unless you want Italian or chain food, da valley really has poor dining choices.

It's not a total wasteland, son. As Sheena mentioned, Cork is good. Also have never heard anything but good about AuRant's in Duryea. So there's two.
Are you recommending Wilkes-Barre's Sonic? The one in Rio Grande (NJ) was not so very.

Happy V-Day.
