So, I got a used car a few years ago, it's an 09. There are no issues with it, other than I've put a lot of miles on it. I'm looking to trade it in towards a new car, or used, just looking for something more recent. (2012 and up). The thing is, I still owe a decent amount of money on my loan. Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation? I know that some dealerships will pay off an existing car loan, but I'd like some opinions on good dealerships in the Scranton/WB area.

Gaughan Auto in Taylor may be worth a look/call.

I have never dealt with them, but they are a large used car only dealer, with a large service/refurb/detail center, and runs a dealer car auction.

In my experience they "pay off" you existing loan and tack that money onto the price of your new car. Any dealership can do that for you...

No dealership (that I'm aware of) will pay off your existing loan without tacking on that amount to the car your looking to get from them....they're not in the business to give money away....no different than a casino...house never loses....
