I have a friend who lives in the Harrisburg area, and we would like to meet for lunch at a halfway point between there and Wilkes-Barre.

We will both be taking I-81. The place doesn't have to be fancy but it would help if it had vegetarian options (seafood is good).

Does anybody know of a town and/or restaurant we might like? Thanks!

The area between HBG and WB on 81 is a culinary wasteland. If you wouldn't mind a slight detour to beautiful Pottsville, you have Ruby Tuesday's, Hoss's Steak and Seafood and Friendly's there. You can also tour the original Yuengling Brewery (free) and also sample their product.

Frackville is the halfway point. Mazz's Corner Cafe for the win.

Au contraire! Just outside of Pottsville (but close enough if you want to tour) is Vito's Coal Fired Pizza, Saint Clair, PA about 5 miles off Frackville exit of 81... check the maps to be sure. Their web site and Yelp should give you plenty of input on the cuisine.

It's informal, friendly, located in a small shopping center...big and comfortable enough to spend time at. There's a nice little bar, plenty of booths, and even a coffee/donut shop next door if you want to move the party and sit more. It;s not fancy but worth a shot if Italian and/or pizza appeals.

No guarantees but you will probably like it.

If you both take 11 instead of 81 you could meet in bloomsburg or danville or sunbury. All 3 have alot of good options.

I've had good luck with the Dutch Kitchen and the Cracker Barrel in Frackville, not like I would go far out of my way for either but both are serviceable.

Veggie friendly folks in the middle of PA might be interested in checking listings here https://nobacon.wordpress.com/pennsy...tarian-dining/
