edit - although, the city doesnt cross i-81 anyway. he probably meant the general area, but thats not germaine to the specific topic.
I dont know the names, but there is a residential area west of I-81 that has nicer newer looking homes. The PSU Hazleton campus is located where? There are also newer homes around the Laurel Mall, and the Walmart. What is that area?

It might be Eagle Rock.

We moved to a little village near Hazelton last year and love it here. It’s close to major highways, has lots of shopping but yet is rural.
our little village is called Conyngham.

I've watched some videos about Hazleton, the changing demographics, racial tensions and crime seem to have tarnished the city's reputation. Wilkes Barre-Scranton seems to be a much better area, as a west coaster I'd rather live in Wilkes Barre than Hazleton. Wilkes barre at least has a thriving music scene and downtown core.

I prefer Scranton out of all 3. Wilkes Barre is very depressing in some parts. I've never been to Hazelton.
