The Lion Brewery is hosting it's annual Oktoberfest celebration this Friday the 4th, and Saturday the 5th. This has become one of Wilkes-Barre's largest events, and it is the largest Oktoberfest event in the region. It keeps growing every year. If you are a beer lover, then come down to the region's only remaining brewery for this large event. It's a great time. I went for the last to years and it was packed! The brewery in in W-B's northend section on north Pennsylvania Ave. Come out and enjoy the fall, the people and the beer. Check out: www.lionbrewery.com, and click on events.

They have an area for children as well. I commute past the brewery daily en route to downtown, and they have a ferris wheel, swings, etc. set up already for this weekend's event.

I'm just trying to convince Summering that I'm a hotter catch for her to consider than The Commish.

Lion now produces Stegmaier, and they are making some very good products. I think alot of people would be surprised how good the local beer is. They now have a line of seasonal beers. A summer ale, the Oktoberfest (autumn), a winter ale (my favorite) and a summer ale. They also produce the pocono lagers. Something that I've always wanted to do is the the brewery tour. I live only a few blocks away, but I've never done the tour. I've heard it's pretty neat. I think they run the tour during the Oktoberfest event if I'm not mistaken.

It's a good time with German food, Great local beer, good music. Take the tour if you get the chance. It a fun fall festival, and gets you in the autumn spirit.

What are the kids things to do? We have another toddler visiting us this weekend, and her parents are also lovers of beer, so I'd love an excuse to make it down.
