took some more flower pics , still experimenting and using different techniques. at least we feel like we are getting better each time but still have sooooooo much to go.

a few of these use a technique called high dynamic range photography.

thats were we take 3 pictures of the same thing and expose them each differently trying to encompass a range from the camera from light to dark thats normally way out of the range of modern cameras. we then combine them into 1 picture digitally. the results can be wild. you can go from real artsey to real looking and anywhere in between.

we had some nice pics of the hotel/train station in scranton at night which were awesome in hdr but since we only had 1 exposure and not 3 pics artificially creating 2 more pics off the one to do the hdr picture left them really noisy. it was far tooooo much effort to noise reduce them. next trip ill re-do them.

There are so many fabulous hdr sites with pictures that are just stunning. no way are we up to those levels yet.. the hdr process really shines in colorful landscapes with big dynamic range bewtween bright skys and dark shadows.

although you can make the scene more realistic i prefer when its used more in an artistic manor. some photographers really have combined art and photography into one picture......

heres a few we did today....

Great pix as always Mathjak!! I just click the camera on automatic...never had time to get into all the shutter speeds, etc.

LOL, that 1 pix of yours with the bait shack reminds me of a local funny...we have a chain of convenience stores here called "Step In Food" (which gives negative visuals by itself), & they have a big sign outside proclaiming "Live Bait - Fried Chicken"!!

Needless to say, I'm too scared to even "step in'.....

we have a place by us right at the junction of 590 west and route 6 that says the same thing. one thing i will tell you is what a surprise, they have some of the best fried chicken around . the potato wedges are done in the same breading as the chicken. a little salty but GOOD!
