Today I traveled through Lehighton, Lansford, and the most beautiful town of Jim Thorpe, PA. It sure is expanding and the stores are all open and full of great things. The pear trees were in bloom, and the river is flowing waiting for the onslaught of boaters. Such a fun place.....heres to you, Jim Thorpe!

Rent a boat, a bike, a kayak.........have fun.......down the river.

Looks like a cute town. Thanks for taking the time to show us. I'll bet all those bikes will be rented this weekend...supposed to be warm! Also...I agree with the teddy bear.

A major corporation or two need to discover Jim Thorpe, perhaps a new university or state college.Much nicer than suburban Atlanta or Houston. So much potential. Only in Pa. would such a gem be so incognito.

Thanks for pics

It is a gorgeous town. We went there a few times on our way to Whitewater rafting and we loved it.

Keep up the great work.

someone please give summering some rep points for me! it won't let me

My fiance and i used to spend almost every weekend there. We would pass through in the jeep with the top and doors off, on our way to mauch chunk to go fishing. We had a nice little spot where the fish would strike even a bare hook! they were small, but it was still a lot of fun. Usually i wouldn't even get time to fish, i would be too busy taking a fish off the hook for her. i miss those days
