When we hear all about the various pols accused of accepting bribe, the count is in the 20s so far. But that's only half the equation. What about the people or companies paying the bribe? I believe few of any of the people paying the bribes have been named publically.

What about them? If they are a company, do then continue to do business with Luzerne County and other gov't entities, and it's business as usual? Are they ever prosecuted? Or are they even named publicly?

Will they ever be held accountable? I have yet to hear a story saying Elected Official so-and-so game to us and said if we don't pay a bribe we'll be retaliated against. In other words, a lack of those stories indicated it was the bribe payer rather then the bribe receiver who initiated the bribe.

Greg Skrepenak is the latest example. It has not been written anywhere that he demanded payment from some entity. It's been said he 'accepted' the bribes, implying he had the option to say no.

Even in the Conahan & Civarella cases, the corporate entity that paid the money, PA Child Care, and Western PA Child Care, seem to have avoided and procecution or punishment.

Thoughts?

I think this is a very valid question. Really, the only person we've heard about was Mericle.
