The Town of Clifton opens it's streets for Clifton Day Festival on Sunday, October 10, 2010 from 9 AM to 5 PM. Over 175 vendors sell unique arts & crafts, antiques, and other market items. Artisans demonstrate their crafts; entertainers enliven the festival with music and dance; children have a ball at the petting zoo, pony rides, face painting, bouncy things, games, train rides, and more! New this year: an Oktoberfest Brat and Beer Hall. Should be great fun for the whole family!

Admission is free. Either take the VRE train from Manassas, Manassas Park, Burke or Rolling Road ($5/person) OR drive and park in any one of 4 lots surrounding the town ($5/vehicle). For more information: www.cliftonday.com or (703) 968-0740.

It's nice. I always enjoy taking a drive on a nice day into Clifton. We took the train in from Burke last year for Clifton Days. Peterson's Ice Cream Depot is a good place to get ice cream. I would recommend NOT stopping at The Heart in Hand to eat though.

Seconded (re: HiH). I heard it used to be good, but the service is pretty awful these days. I ate there with my parents last year, and 2/3 of our food was excellent and the rest was 'meh.' When I returned with my SO earlier this year, everything was pretty bad.
