Hello, I am looking to buy the Japanese cherry blossom tree to plant in my backyard. Could someone please let me know where I can buy exactly the same cherry blossom trees that we see at the Cherry Blossom festival in DC? Thank you very much!

They're extremely common. Any garden center will have them. Most of the ones around the tidal basin are Yoshino cherry trees.

If you're buying more than one tree, I would seriously consider the Kwanzan cherry tree. They have some of them around the tidal pool, too, but they bloom a few weeks later than the Yoshinos. Kwanzan trees are the ones that are deep pink, have double blossoms, and tend to be slightly healthier and have stronger wood than the Yoshinos. I think it's because they bloom a little later. The Yoshinos are the ones with the white blossoms. They sometimes bloom in December or January if we have a warm spell, and while it's fun to see, that isn't so good for them and the wood is sometimes weak as a result.
