I don't know about needing an app for everything, but this was at least creative. Saw it on FOX 5 Morning news today - someone made a federal shutdown countdown app that shows live operating status and up-to-the-minute news. At least someone will be making the shutdown into shutdown-ade!

Really? Mine doesn't. It lists it as "STATUS: DUE TO A LAPSE IN APPROPRIATIONS, FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS VARY BY AGENCY."
