I'm not familiar with Pat Collins, I'm certain I've seen him on TV but I watch so little TV news and he apparently hasn't made an impression on me. I think I will turn on to watch him now because your description piqued my interest.

Actually, your lines below made me think of a somewhat-local real old-time and old-style newsman, Jack Germond.

I love Pat Collins.

I saw him in person for the first time a couple weeks back at my job and he's just as dramatic off screen as he is on screen.

Yeah, I'm bored. It's 130 degrees outside.
I've given him many years and I still can't stand him. That pregnant pause drives me crazy. I like Jim and Doreen though.

You get a rep point from me on that one, Caladium. LMAO! (especially that line "a family squirrel generous with his acorns?")

I'm with you, but good news: I read a few months ago that TBD will be history, and the station ID goes back to news Channel 8. What does TBD stand for, anyway?

Glad to hear they're returning to the old name. I have no idea what TBD was supposed to stand for (but I have some suggestions..... )

ordinarily "TBD" would stand for "to be determined" but I don't know if News Channel 8 has their own definition
