Hi there,
I am looking for a one-bedroom apartment somewhere near Arlington. My boyfriend works in Reston, so we're hoping for someplace maybe in between. I've looked at so many complexes and they all kind of look the same at this point... then when we find one that we really like, the reviews are horrible. Our max budget is probably about $1450/month + utilities, and the place needs to be dog friendly.

If anyone has any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you!
SD

But what are you looking for in an apartment? There are plenty that I personally know would fit your budget, but is old and not renovated (for instance) a deal breaker for you?

What are your priorities? Walkability? Near by restaurants? Price Only? Equal distance for each commute? Metro access?

Someplace in between of where? Arlington > Reston is a fairly doable commute, but Arlington does not as such represent a mid point to Reston from anywhere.

Consider the area around the East Falls Church metro station as well. It's right on the the orange line straight into Ballston/Clarendon/Courthouse and DC, and will also be on the silver line (whenever it opens). The latter part is key, as it will go as far as Wiehle Avenue in Reston. Something to consider if your boyfriend's work is nearby.

We are pretty much open to whatever. We basically work all the time, so walkability/night life isn't a big concern. Don't care about the metro. Some nearby parks would be nice, maybe some trails, but I also realize that asking for EVERYTHING i'd want eliminates a lot of options, and I just want to be able to knock out as much of my student loans as possible.

Old & not renovated is fine. As long as it does what it needs to do.

I guess basically anywhere between Reston & Arlington where at least one of us has a reasonable commute. Falls Church might be good.

Thanks

Look around Dunn Loring/Merrifield area, and places around Tysons (Vienna, West Falls Church). Most proximate midpoint spots between ARL and Reston.
