Hi All,

Can you guys/gals recommend a composite deck cleaner? I have some small oil/grease stains I'm trying to remove. I know the cleaner will not complete fix my issue but anything helps. I've tried the soap and hot water mix but that didn't help too much. Any input is appreciated.

PS, loving the warm weather in NOVA!

Thanks,
Richie

Have you tried adding a bit of ammonia to the soap and water? That's usually pretty good at cutting grease! Just rinse well! Just do NOT mix with bleach....toxic!!!!

PS, too....LOVING THE WEATHER right along with ya!

No, haven't tried using ammonia too but I will now. Thanks for the suggestion.

Getting the deck and grill ready for the warmer weather.

depends on what type of composite you have. every one has different tolerances and each requires a certain way of cleaning. I would check the manufacturer's website.

We had Trex and Azek and both were a real pain in the --- to clean. They were originally advertised as "maintenance free" and that eventually changed to "virtually maintenance free" and now it's "use this special cleaner a few times a year".
The Azek took a lot of elbow grease along with power sprayer and chemicals and the Trex took an acidic product to clean up the stains and there was some minor splintering.
We were so fed-up with the upcharge for almost no convenience, we decided to go back to mother nature for our latest deck.
