I'm in the middle of a separation/divorce and contemplating on moving to Northern Virginia. I have 2 children and think we need a change of scenary. I have one child who is special needs and wants to be a dancer while my other child is very bright and wants to be an actor. So I was wondering if anyone could help me find a school district that is a good fit for our African American family living on a one parent income. I have heard Fairfax county was a good area for families with special needs children but I also heard it was a very expensive area to live.

I grew up in Burke/Springfield where every level of school had very good and integrated special needs systems. I would definitely suggest the school system there for arts/drama as Lake Braddock is consistently one of the most awarded arts programs in the state let alone country.
