Hello,
My little sister is going to stay with me (Ashburn) for a few months as she will be taking classes in either Sterling, Arlington or Vienna ( we do not know yet where). The issue is she will not be driving, and I was looking into a pick up drop off service, that will drop her off and pick her up every day from school, however I was not able to find anything online. Do you guys know of services like that in the area? What are other options for someone not driving? Thank you for your help!

This is called a taxi. There are many, many taxi companies in the area. Otherwise, I would suggest the public bus system.

There are personal services companies that handle that sort of thing. I know one in Alexandria (Angels at Your Service) but that would certainly not work for your location in Ashburn. Perhaps do an internet search on personal and home care services in the Ashburn area?

I haven't used these sites extensively, but you could try sittercity.com or care.com or something like that to see if you could find some part-time help (maybe a college kid or something).

You don't mention the age, or if school will be public or private, but I also know a couple people who have kids in private schools quite far from their homes and they've been able to arrange with other parents or other students who live in the same area for transportation. A lot of times this is a car pool scenario, but I would guess that if you found someone who was doing the similar commute anyhow, you might be able to just pay them some amount to include your sister as well.

She is 20 years old and will be going to a prof.school or a college.Driving is not an option as both my mum and I don't trust her on the VA highways, she is a really bad driver and doesnt have much experience. A part time help or driver that we can hire I guess for 2 hours/day, 5 days a week would work so she can get dropped off and picked up. Thanks a lot for your help!

In that case, maybe she can find another student in her classes who lives in the area that would be willing to give her a ride. Most students could use a little extra cash!

Edited to add: I'm not very familiar with public transportation, but I would guess that many schools might be on a bus route so that might be an option also.

Thank you! I don't know much about bus routes in this area, and don't think I have a bus line close to my house in Ahsburn, but I will check online. Thanks again
