When we need to use Route 15 northbound, we take the Greenway up to the end. However, we've wondered if we got off at Battlefield Parkway could we connect with Route 15 north? I've googled Battlefield Parkway to get maps and from looking at the maps, it appears that one could take it from the Greenway right to Route 15. However, it looks like some segments on the map are drawn to appear to be perhaps a 2-lane road, while other sections appear to be wider.

We've always wondered about this as Route 15 gets really congested by Edwards Ferry Road and the Outlet center. It would be nice to just be able to bypass all of that.

You can take it all the way to 15, but the speed limit is low (35 in most stretches, IIRC) and the light crossing Route 7 can be long.

Battlefield does meet up with the Bypass north of Edwards Ferry/the Outlet Center. However that too can get crowded when the Bypass goes down to one lane each way and merges with the King Street traffic. The speed limit is also 35 (OTOH, the Bypass is only 45 once you hit Sycolin.)

What other have already said - yes, it connects, but no, it's not faster - if the BP is backed up, so's Battlefield...

The BP will back up first though. Battlefield is a useful alternate route especially on the weekends when more folks are going to the Edwards Ferry big box areas and the outlet malls (OTOH, I've seen times when the Bypass/Market Street are jam-packed but Battlefield's an easy in to get to the outlets.)

When people are looking for a bypass to the bypass, you know the planners screwed up.

The bypass was great in the 1960s when it was built. Battlefield is now the outer bypass.

Fixing up the Fort Evans/Edwards Ferry/Bypass mess will probably run north of $60-$70 million. Maybe Maryland can chip in a few million to help their commuters.

Cracked me up back in the day - drive up Rt 7 & there was nothing until the "bypass" - around what, exactly? Now.... sheesh.
