...but who decided it would be a good idea to have Police Week motorcades on the major highways leading into DC during rush hour?

I was riding my motorbike around on Sunday and I was blocked off crossing Route 28 in Manassas by a police escorted bicycle group for a few minutes. If you were going northbound on 28, you were stuck behind them and hating life.

I saw that too, but I was going 66 towards Centreville from Arlington. Traffic was just backed up for miles. And I imagine a lot of people were trying to take detours, I saw a few cars and buses attempting to use the shoulder.

How dare you criticize anything law enforcement does! That means you hate cops. Just like protesting anything the military does means you don't respect their sacrifices.

I agree this was a bad idea. I'm all for finding a way to honor the ones who gave their lives, but I've never understood why it requires a caravan of vehicles causing mass confusion and delays--whether that's for the 4th or Memorial Day or whatever. All these stupid marathons, Rolling Thunder, cop caravans--society didn't have these things 40 or 50 years ago; were LE and the military less honored/respected then? I doubt that.
