Pretty much. This thread is well timed, I was just commenting to my wife a few days ago about how the Kars for Kids ad makes me want to ram my car into a bridge support, but you know what, I can rattle off their phone number immediately. Same for Empire. It's annoying as hell, but it works.

Also, the defense contractors. I'm sure it's me, but I have no idea what they're even talking about.

Different venue, same complaint. If you have been to the AMC theaters at Potomac Mills, you'll recognize, "more, more, more" from one of the two pawn shop commercials that aren't the least bit subtle and will at times be played several times in a row. We've been there when a crowded audience sings along (more fun than booing). I am told the local college film class assignment was to parody the two commercials.

I've never heard of Kars 4 Kids or their ads.

You're just not listening to enough terrestrial radio. Click here, if you dare: The Kars for Kids Song > 1877 Kars for Kids | About the Jingle

I assume no liability for earworms...

I don't know. Doesn't seem like an efficient way for charitable donations to me.

Most of the cars for donations were essentially tax scams where people donated broken down cars, deducted its KBB value as if in excellent condition, and the take away and sale were handled by a private company that would donate $100-200 to the charity while the donor would receive as high as $7K in tax savings. IRS shut that loophole down a while back.

FYI, Kars4Kids is mostly a Jewish charity that goes out of its way to hide its religious affiliation. Nothing wrong about being a Jewish charity, but you'd never know that from their commercials.
