I am looking for a studio apartment close to the Capital One Mclean Campus for a period of 10 weeks. Preferably walking distance or a short subway/bus ride. Any suggestions.

Commons of McLean, or look for rent by owner from Gates of McLean. Both are right there. Unfortunately there is no way to walk to Capital One from anywhere else in town until the Jones Branch Connector comes in.

You could rent in Arlington and take the Silver Line out, but its been delayed and yet to have an opening date, so if this move in is happening tomorrow, then its tougher, if its going to be in a month, then you can likely pull it off. The 23T bus also serves from Ballston to Capital One (route 123), so any apartment in Ballston is busable too just in case you get here before the Silver Line gets here.

I know theres some flyers in the Rotonda and Park Crest for condo by owner rentals which are also busable.

Good luck in the search.

I would post a "housing wanted" ad on Craigslist. I've had good luck in the past with specific requirements that way.

As Tysons Engineer mentioned, Gates of Mclean is literally next door to the complex. I would start with that one.

Gates of McLean is your best bet. The closer to summer you need the place, the better the deal you'll get.

I went to an open house there a few weeks ago. The realtor showing the place owns several units and said he has lowered rents to $1100 for a one bedroom during the summer. Apparently, the place gets slammed with vacancies at that time of year.

You sound like you know the place fairly well. Any idea what the noise level is like at night (if not in the apartments themselves, then just the area in general)? Potentially a future McLeaner here.

One side of the complex sits up against the Beltway noise wall so depending on the location you could have some traffic noise in your apartment. The building was also originally apartments and is now condos. The area itself isn't too loud although at some point the Capital One area (south below the complex) is going to be developed and that will be years of construction.
