We left the Nova area several years ago due to work relocation - however it's been rough as the job market where we are is impossible. We have the choice to return which means changing schools in MS and HS but we have contacts etc. the bigger question is - how is the job market? When we left it was not impossible to find decent paying jobs with federal government and/or private sector as lawyers, policy advisors, Hill staff, teachers, etc. how is it now? Area seems more crowded than ever so is there more competition than ever? Our expenses would be far more there but it seems finding work would be easier than it is where we are.

Thanks

This whole budget reduction thing has reduced the public sector positions 25 to 35k over the past year, so I would suggest looking for private non-government related work as its tough to find people hiring for direct consulting or in the public sector.
