Leesburg looks really charming, with a nice little downtown area. Are there any rentals in the downtown area? The ones I'm seeing online are big complexes out a ways. I am more interested in smaller buildings with character and proximity to the shops and restaurants. Anything like that in Leesburg or am i out of luck?

Maybe you could check out the local newspapers? I know there are some (very few) condos in historic downtown Leesburg so your best bet would be a private landlord. Good luck in your search, that area is gorgeous!

I don't know the answer offhand, but local newspapers include the Loudoun Times, Leesburg Today, Eastern Loudoun Observer (probably just called the Observer online), and the Connection. They might have online versions so you could check out the ads.

also check craigs list.

There are quite a few apts /TH near the historic area but I don't think they are run by big mgt companies.l

We recently left Leesburg...it is a very nice town. The downtown is thriving so being able to walk and go to a movie and have dinner or shop would be nice.
