I was out walking the dog last night (Friday, 12/26) about 11:30 or so and heard quite a number of emergency vehicles' sirens. I'm in the Annandale area, so I'm thinking that the new fire station on Columbia Pike (close to the Harris Teeter) and the station farther up Columbia Pike near the Burger King were part of the response, just based on how loud the sirens were. There were so many emergency vehicle sirens that I had the eerie feeling that it was a really bad incident.

Anybody see a 395 accident, perhaps, or a big fire? I'm really curious (being in the media business, I'm curious about most everything ...).

Fairfax/Annandale police and fire usually don't add news releases to their websites on weekends, so I can't get any info that way. It made me think yet again about looking into a police scanner, tho I understand that certain frequencies are turned off at times.
