Does anyone recommend an installer for CAT 6 cables in a house in the Fredericksburg area? Will be moving into our house soon and looking for someone that provides this service since it will be one of the first things we do before we starting setting up all our furniture.

Thank you

I wouldn't waste the time, money, effort or energy on hardwired anymore. This was cool in the early 2000's before wireless protocols became more robust, dependable and commonplace in the home.

The only company that I know is based out of Winchester. Advanced Cabling Systems. 540-771-7444.

In my new house, I have hardwired 28 Cat6 drops throughout the house. 14 of them will be used for internet/intranet (all TV locations, wireless access points, PoE security cameras), 7 for whole house audio keypads, 7 for a video distribution network (so that I can just rent 2 cable boxes for all the 7 possible TV locations). Robert at Advanced Cabling Systems handled all of that. The house is a new construction though. Yours will be much more difficult.

Still not robust enough, imo. At least for serious gamers

Then what equipment would you recommend to cover a 4300 sq ft home with gigabit speeds or low <100ms ping times while gaming and streaming media at the same time?

This was a new built house though right? I have been quoted between 2500-5000 to wire 14 drops including cable and wall plates. I think that is a little steep but then again it is an existing home.

If you are an audio/video enthusiast, run at least two Cat 6 drops per each TV location. Cat cable is now like a Swiss knife for audio/video. With baluns, you can use a Cat cable for HDMI, component video, RCA audio, etc.

Yes, it was new construction. I think I spent around $7,000 but that included some a/v equipment, surround sound speakers, and outdoor speakers along with LAN and HDMI cable runs.

I am not sure CAT 6 will give you much benefit. Research it a little before you pay extra for it. If you do it also consider doing fiber runs as well. The labor should be the real cost. I love wireless but it is lacking in speed, stability and security. It could also cost more in the long run as you update and replace routers. I prefer wired for gaming, video chat and watching video.
