Hey again, folks. I'm looking for recommendations for an ISA-certified arborist who doesn't do tree removal.

We have a very large white oak I'd very much like to save, but it has what appears to be root rot mostly on one side, likely from the excessive rain we had last year.

I know there are tons of companies who specialize in trimming/removal, but I'd like to hire someone with experience restoring oaks to health, who doesn't have a vested interest in taking the tree down. (If it has to come down, so be it--but I won't trust the advice to remove the tree from someone whose living comes from making that happen.)

Thanks for any suggestions.

Bartlett Tree. Used Davey for many years but switched to Bartlett and find their service superior.

Second this opinion! They saved a long row of Lelands that were accidently hosed down with Round-up by our previous owner several years ago. Everything Bartlett didn't work on to save, died.

We use The Care of Trees. They've since become a part of Davey Tree but still use their own name. While they have taken down trees that were dead, they've also helped keep some of our trees healthy and going strong.

You could call the State Arboretum in Clarke County. They could probably advise you of a company or local expert. There is also probably a county extension office for your county.

Arboretum - blandy
