We are looking at these two areas for relocation to N. Virginia. Based on summer heat and humidity only, which fares better? We were hoping there was a difference based on the mountains being on both sides of Harrisonburg.

I've lived in the vicinity of both and there is no noticeable difference in heat and humidity between the two cities.

Both are nice, neither are considered NoVa, though.

Thank you. We are coming from an area in Northern Ohio that has a few days (10?) with noticeable humidity during the summer and I wanted to see if there a 'better' side to minimize the exposure to humidity when we relocate.

They're both beautiful cities, Charlottesville is slightly larger and has more to offer.

Actually, Harrisonburg is slightly larger in population and area. I think it would helpful to the OP if you would please elaborate on what more Charlottesville has to offer compared to Harrisonburg.

I feel like both cities are very comparable in shopping, dining, activities, history, healthcare, etc. - and yes, weather. I do think real estate is cheaper in Harrisonburg. Frankly, I could happily live in either city.

True. But the Charlottesville forum is not very active and some of us are familiar with both Charlottesville and Harrisonburg.
