Jobs and public schools. Grew up here and would love change of scenery but these two things are what's keeping us here.

Same. I'm ready for something different. Right now I'm thinking about moving to NYC, I'm hoping my job will let me transfer but there are still a lot of pros that keep me here as well.

Access to everything. Major airports within a short Uber ride, everything DC has to offer, mountains, parks, rural areas and urban areas.

We considered retiring to a smaller city. However, when we visited this city, we noticed that there wasn't really very much to do there. Even some of the residents we talked to pointed out to us that there was more to do in the DC area. This got us thinking and ultimately, we decided to stay---especially once we started living in Reston.

What do you like about NoVA? Do you ever find it boring? After living here and knowing what you know now, would you still move here or would you move elsewhere?

In my opinion, the only PRO living here is job security if you work for the federal government.

I would definitely move out of the area if the right opportunity presents itself.

Moving out to the Shenandoah Valley to escape NOVA. While I was in NOVA from 73-2015 I do not miss it for the most part. I even find my stress levels going up as I get closer to NOVA on 66. You are closer to everything which is a bonus but the country living is what I found I needed for the remainder of my days.

The gang murder at the park we used to rent paddle boats and play mini golf was an eye opener. Now, my parents live in Orange, and I didn't even bother going g to NoVa on my yearly visit, even though they were there for 55 years. The year before I went to watch Thursday night football at Lee and they didn't even have a JV team. Like a lot of places, QOL went down as COL went up. The prices people pay for services are outrageous, but not as outrageous as the prices the taxpayers pay for bozo government contractors and their Beltway Bandit employers.
