As I understand it, police from Arlington, Alexandria, and Fairfax, as well as Virginia State Police, were among the law enforcement presence mobilized under mutual aid agreements to help restore order at the U.S. Capitol today. Thank you for what you did to help safeguard American democracy when it was threatened by a mob of mindless insurrectionists who merit the title of domestic terrorists.

PWC and others were called/there as well. Several of my friends were there assisting. I've only heard from one and he is US Capitol PD so he was on the front lines.

Maryland Governor Hogan also sent 200 state troopers and has called up the Maryland National Guard to assist. We owe a big thank you to all our regional law enforcement professionals.

I thought Arlington no longer wanted to allow their police to be sent to D.C. or does that solely depend on *who* is rioting and threatening federal buildings?

I'm a full supporter of LEO, but good grief, get out much?
It's not a take over when the barriers are removed by Capitol police and shown where to go.

I have no idea what was going on in the video showing how certain Capitol Police members appeared to let the crowds in, take selfies with them, and assist certain individuals up the Capitol steps.

I am truly sorry for the whole wretched affair and the people who died because of it - including protestors Ashlii Babbitt (shot in the invasion), Benjamin Phillips (stroke), Kevin Greeson (heart attack) and Rosanne Boyland (crushed to death in the crowd).

But, especially, I grieve for Capitol Police Officer Brian Sicknick, a Trump supporter, who was murdered on duty by being bashed in the head with a fire extinguisher by "loyal patriots" in their attack of the Capitol.

You do Brian a great disgrace by mentioning him in the same post as the domestic terrorist Ashlii and others. She attempted to breach the area where Pence/others were being kept despite being warned they would be shot if they progressed further. There is video from five different angles of it. Even the other people in the area saw the gun and knew it was time to stop their little charade.

So stupid that the Capitol police let them waltz in there like it was all a big joke...obvious from the videos no one was really taking it seriously...led to five people dying needlessly.

But Brian's death is the only tragedy here.
