When we moved here from PA, we did not have to take any tests....well, just an eye test. That was about 7 years ago.

I didn't have to take a test over a year ago, but it was a pain to prove I was me, I live where I say I lived and then I had to trace my name going back to my birthname. Good lordy!!

Two questions. First, what are emissions? Second, I am moving to Virginia soon and will need to get a license and I also need to get my eyes checked because I've realized I probably need glasses. I won't have gone to the eye doctor yet when I take the eye exam at the DMV so I wondered what happens if you don't pass the exam at the DMV? Do they just have a restriction or what?

The vehicle needs to be inspected by your local gas station. I forget if it's every year or every two years. (What makes it even more frustrating is that you don't get a reminder.
