Especially during rush hour. Thanks.

How long will the drive be from Dunn Loring to Fairfax Mall?

I drove 66-West from Nutley Street to Fair Oaks (Route-50) this morning around 8:30. Speed limit pace or better all the way. Moderate traffic. Fifteen minutes-ish. Eastbound was bumper-to-bumper the whole way...yuck! I make that run at about that time several times a month. Today was typical. Barring something weird, it's a Sunday drive. Not sure what you mean by Dunn Loring unless you'll be coming off the Beltway. It's about three miles from the Beltway to Nutley, so from there to Fair Oaks might be on the high side of 15 minuites, but not by very much...

66 is a road that gets crowded in certain spots at any time, any day. The roughest spots are the sections between the Beltway and 123 (both directions). It can also be slow coming eastbound beginning at Route 50/Fair Oaks. It is a road that is just congested, congested, congested.

I leave Manassas at 0610 and get into DC at 0650. I leave at 3pm and get in about 4. Its 55 or 65 mph here, so that means it'll take longer. Traffic does flow, just slower. It's congested, but not bumper to bumper at those times.

I STRONGLY AGREE WITH CaseyMac! 66 gets crowded at ANY time ANY day! Most major roads in the DC metro area have peak traffic times but 66 is so unpredictable its a daily gamble.

66 always bogs down around Fairfax, doesn't matter what time or day. (Driving from west to east) I'm glad I don't have to deal with that traffic everyday. It would drive me nuts.

That blinding afternoon, winter sun comes into play on 66 West. You will see some bad traffic out there.

That is against traffic. Should be fine.

Driving towards 495/D.C. in the morning on away from 495/D.C. in the evening is GOD AWFUL.
