I am looking for a preschool for my son who turns 3 in June, I live near Greenbriar on route 50 so close to there would be a bonus. Any recommendations would be appreciated

Hi FairfaxMum,

I attended an open house at the Pleasant Valley Preschool in Jan & enrolled my daughter for the 3 yr old class for 2009/2010. It is located at the Greenbriar Community Centre on Stringfellow Rd so very close for you. It is a co-op preschool. I was quite impressed with the friendly atmosphere of the school. It is only small, 1 3yo class (2 days per week) & 1 4 yro class (3 days per week). Cute outdoor play area & well maintained equipment & toys. The room that is used for classes was very clean & spacious. They have a web site you could check or I think they are having their spring carnival on the morning of March 28.
Good luck with your search

You might want to check out the local churches surrounding your home. A lot of them will rent out to pre-schools during the week (pre-schools have no religious affiliation). There is a church on Rugby Rd. and several off of Stringfellow you might want to check out. My personal preference is "Beginning Bridges" - 2 of my 3 kids attended there and my youngest will either attend this Fall or next. It is located off of Fairfax Co. Pkwy at Ffx. Co. Pkwy and Franklin Farm Rd. It would take you about 10-15 min. to get there. It's in the Methodist Church on the corner (no religious affiliation). Everything about the school is amazing. I know registration ended on 2/6 but you can be put on the waiting list. It may be worth calling them and making an appointment for a tour. Ask for Lindy Lauer or Trish Carr.

Good Luck!
