Hi,
Looking for information about zip code 22041 within Falls Church. Safe for families, is it walkable? What areas to avoid?
Any insight is appreciated.

Friends of mine are happy with 22042, and 22044. Don't know about 41.

Well, 22041 is in the unincorporated part of Falls Church that is in Fairfax County, not the independent City of Falls Church (22046...$$$).

It's like most areas here....not all bad and not all good. I would stay away from the Bailey's Crossroads area of 22041, though.

Most of 22041 - particularly around Sleepy Hollow Road, Lake Barcroft and Barcroft Woods - is extremely pleasant. Culmore and Bailey's Crossroads aren't very attractive, but then neither is Kent Gardens in McLean or some of the aging sections of Annandale, Springfield or Vienna.

Default Information re: Falls Church

Thanks for the information.
Is is safe to walk throughout the day or early evening?
How would Fairfax compare - say around Penderbrook?

You can say that again! A waterfront home in Lake Barcroft recently sold for $2.7 million. I've seen it, absolutely gorgeous.

It's a bit apples and oranges. The areas in 22041 that I mentioned are less dense (more expensive single-family houses) and probably at least as safe, if not safer, than Penderbrook. If you're looking at townhouse-type developments in 22041 similar to the dense housing in Penderbrook, however, you'd probably be closer to Culmore or Bailey's Crossroads. I think that area is fairly safe to walk around in during the day or early evening, but I'd certainly rather be in Penderbrook than Culmore or Bailey's late at night.
