Hi everyone,

There is some great advice here! So I'm hoping to find some help too. After trying to figure out bus schedules and metro fares all morning, I am totally exhausted and still not sure what to do. We have been living in Ashburn for almost a year now (and love it), but my husband just got a new job in Crystal City. After paying $18 for all-day parking yesterday to drive there, we aren't going to do that again!

So what I'm looking for is the best way to commute between Ashburn and Crystal City. He'll probably be working approx. 8am-5pm, but driving doesn't bother him. I'm confused about buses/way to get to the West Falls Church metro from Ashburn (we are right off of 7 in Ashburn), so the only way I've come up with so far is him driving 20 miles to the station, parking ($4.50/day) and then paying the $6.40 or so for roudtrip fairs each day. This comes to $218/month + car gas and maintenence (ouch!).

I'm looking for help/advice on bus schedules, metro fares and best parking (if he were to drive) to the area. As far as I know his new employer doesn't offer any parking options, but they do offer pre-tax commuting plans. Thanks!

Drive to Dulles North Park and Ride, take LC Commuter Bus.
Bus takes you from park and ride lot directly to Crystal City, with some stops along the way.

Schedule:
Commuter Bus Schedules (http://www.loudoun.gov/Default.aspx?tabid=969 - broken link)

Click on the Dulles North Transit Center to Rosslyn, the Pentagon and D.C. (http://www.loudoun.gov/controls/speerio/resources/RenderContent.aspx?data=1752c0bb4038452fa5a5f94ecd bc23c5&tabid=333 - broken link)

Its $7 one way.Driving from Ashburn to Crystal city is pretty long, if you ask me.
Bus to Metro, with train change at Rosslyn, is also long.

Try the LC BUS.
