Default Is there a lake to go swimming near the G.W. Nat'l Forest

Sorry I don't know if this is the right forum to ask as the place in question is the George Washington National Forest which appears to be in the west-central part of the state but here goes.

Is there a lake where you can go swimming in or near the George Washington National Forest? I remember going to a lake near there as a kid (about 20 years ago) but can't find that lake or park. If was designated as a public park and had a little beach, a snack bar and a little office or ranger station of some kind. I remember seeing a parking lot as well as playground equipment, restrooms lifeguards, fairly large crowds.

I can't find this place on a map and there is no mention of it online when I search for it. This park could be long gone for all I know so thought I'd ask to find out. I'd like to revisit it.

It may not technically be in the GWNF but I do specifically remember seeing that name on a map and on signage when I was there 20 years ago.
Thanks for any information.

GW Forest is tremendous in size. Here are two places to swim in GWNF. Blue Hole--20 minutes W. on 33 of Harrisonburg, ask anyone, they will tell you exactly where it is. Switzer Dam--near Autobine near rt. 257. Look it up. Blue Hole is more social; lots of JMU students. A further drive would be Crabtree Falls or Smith Mountain Lake.

After I made you all go through that, I believe the lake in question was not in the GWNF at all but instead a lil ol' place called Cacapon Resort in WV.
It could have been that someone showed me a map of where they thought we were at the time but we were actually somewhere else. GWNF seems awfully far from where we were staying at the time which was in the Capon River area. The cacapon resort is more likely and what I can tell from the satellite photos it looks like the place.

Thanks for the replies.
