Well the problem is that it creates a cut-throat society. When we have more than 50% of the people dragging down the economy then we have a major problem. Most upper class people had to work for their money, so it seems anti-american for the gov't to take that away from them. It's much better to let people donate their money to the charities of their choice.
Poor people need to stop feeling sorry for themselves, and start contributing to society. remember JFK's quote.. "ask not what your country can do for you"???
Politicians today play into our fears about money, and create a class warfare where the rich people are the bad guys. the irony is that those politicians are rich themselves.

A lot of "poor people" don't feel sorry or ashamed that they are getting government aid.
Why else would people immigrate or sneak into the US and have many kids immediately even if they are barely making minimum wage and have no health care?
In reality...it's the opposite. It's the lottery.
Look at any DC ghetto and you'll see generations upon generations living in the same projects, and these aren't even immigrants.

(Ironically a lot of those who bash the Feds work for private-sector government contractors, and then when you dish a bit out towards the contractors in your own defense they can't take it).

It's only teacher bashing if the points are incorrect.
Contractors generally do all the work that the feds should be doing. Otherwise, the government wouldn't need to outsource.

Not that I know of, but The Fairfax County Federation of Teachers (a true "union" and not an association) has put together a list and presented it to both the school board and county board. I have posted it in another thread, but will find it and repost here.
