moving to waianea (Waianae: apartment, condo, neighborhood)

We are planning on moving to waianae, in jan-feb.
the good, the bad?
I already searched past forums, and didn't find much.

we have two young children, one will be 2 and the other will be 1.
we are looking into the condo/apartment on Ala Mahiku.

looking for any input.

I think you mispelled Waianae (usually pronounced why-A-nigh) twice in your post. That makes it hard for people who could help you to figure out what you're asking. I know Hawaiian names are difficult to decipher, but they are important to locals, and they will appreciate it when you get them right.

Have you tried your search again with the correct spelling? There are a few threads which have discussed the area. Most recently I had started a thread about the sea country neighborhood, which is in Waianae so that thread has some info and there have been a few before that as well.

On a related note it's always a good idea to double check the spelling of locations here. Besides being important to locals, if you switch even a couple letters around you may be talking about a completely different place than you think you are.
