So...supposedly if you carry comprehensive insurance in Florida - windshield replacement is covered - with no deductible.
Does anyone have experience with this? Have you gotten your windshield replaced rather than 'fixed' and will the shop file the insurance? Also, will my insurance premiums take a hit?
And if you *have* gotten a windshield replaced in Ocala...recommendations for where to get it done?

Absolutely true. Had a windshield replaced last Spring at no cost. Called Safelite, made appointment and picked up same day. No hassles, just showed insurance card and that was all.

Look for a bill in the next legislative session to address the 'free' windshield. Insurance companies have been complaining that too many fly by night companies are forming as 'windshield replacement specialists' and scamming the system.

Safelite can come to your place of work and fix your windshield without having to take your car to them. Just ask them, don't know if there is an additional charge for that.
