I started a thread a while back looking for opinions of On Top of the World vs. SummerGlen. Some responses came back saying to look at Stone Creek - a Dell Webb community.

I haved since gotten an information packet from them. Nevertheless, I am curious if there are any opinions out there on this community. Off the bat, it seems like they offer a lot of custon features as standard in their homes. They have bragged to me that they do not offer as many add-ons as OTOW because theirs are already included.

What do you think? How do all these communities compare?

Stone Creek is hands down superior to Summerglen and OTOW. What you heard is very true....much better standard features already included in Stone Creek homes (Corion countertops, stainless steel appliances, 42" cabinets, 18" ceramic tile, berber carpet, etc). Even more impressive are the amenities, entry feature, and overall community layout that make Stone Creek stand out from the other 55+ communities in the area. OTOW has been around for 30+ years, so there is a mix of older homes, as well as newer homes. The size of OTOW is very large and can be confusing. It's not a self-contained community like Stone Creek. Visit both, and you'll see see how superior Stone Creek is. Summerglen is a decent community, but the location is poor. It's right off I-75, next to a truck stop and Marion Oaks (which you don't want to be near...trust me). You'll have to drive quite a ways just to go grocery shopping, run to the drug store, etc. They have some low prices and hefty incentives, but there are reasons for that, including stripped down standard features, not that great amenities, the location, and the fact the community developers had gone bankrupt at least once in the past before being where they are today. If you value community amenities, prestige, and quality homes, I'd highly recommend Stone Creek over anything else in the Ocala area. Hope this helps.
