We're looking to relocate from NJ in about 18 months (after Ir etire and we sell our home here).

Can anyone who's dealt with Holiday Builders give me an opinion of them? I'm looking for information on their policies, the quality of their homes, responsiveness to questions and complaints, and the subdivisions in which they build in the area.

My mother was not happy with the one they built for her as well but no mold problems yet. Most builder are not doing much building right now with the economy. There is a large home inventory right now so if you can buy almost new you will find deals.

She has found mold in two rooms so far, and both on the outside walls..back of home. It also looks as though it's under the carpeting in one room as well. She's also had other minor problems with the builder, but this is pretty bad. Not too mention all the empty (foreclosures) houses around her.

You may want to talk with several more builders. That way you can make a more informed decision.

I am a renter and I LOVE Holiday builders. Tour several models from several builders, though. Armstrong and Holiday are actually sought-out in Ocala for the low heating/cooling bills and the structure. You might rent for a while before you buy or build to get an idea of what the homes are like, alot of builders have rentals available.

We ended up purchasing a home built by Rowe and Newberry in August. I looked at a couple of homes built by Holiday last June, and I wasn't impressed at all. I didn't like the layout and the components were shoddy -- at least in the homes I saw.

But we'd never have rented -- there's no way on God's green earth my husband and I would ever have rented a home ever again. We've been homeowners far too long to put ourselves into the hands of a landlord.

Pretty much the same story with all the builders here during the boom, turn and burn.......who cares how crappy the construction is? Theres always more.
And then the economy went south.........
