States rights ftw. Although honestly transgender bathrooms isn't really actually even a states rights issue but a property rights one. I guess I'll take this over federal dominance that so defined the Obama years though. But I also don't really care much either.

I'd say those numbers are much higher than they actually are. I know those are frequently reported stats but I think they are based on flawed methodologies. Consider this, there are 15 million high school students in the US, based on the above statistic that would mean 1 out of 100 students would be transgender. That number is grossly inflated for any school I have ever seen and I live in possibly the most LGBT friendly place in the US.

Conservatives only like to scream about "states rights!" when there is a social issue making progress that they don't like. Leaving it up to the local/state level guarantees widespread discrimination each and every time. Imagine removing federal non-discrimination policy in housing, employment, schooling, etc. You'd immediately have conservative areas removing all protections for relevant minority groups. That history already existed and we know exactly how it goes. If you want to grant more power to the states, fine, but it shouldn't be on social issues like this.
But anyway, the US is no longer a bastion of hope anymore for anyone, and things are going to get so much worse for everyone before it's all said and done.

"States rights" regarding bathroom laws, but not legal marijuana. Typical Republican hypocrisy.

Complete bull. We don't leave racial protections up to the states. We just decided the right to marriage for same-sex couples is not up to the states. This will follow the same path, it's just a matter of how long it takes. He can delay all he wants; it will happen.

Personally, I would just like all bathrooms to have real enclosed stalls with actual doors that lock and I would like them all to be unisex. However, that has nothing to do with my opinion on the legal issue.

The sky is falling. More opinions from a liberal that doesnt live here. How do you know this will get worse? Such nonsense.
Im glad the feds gave it to the states.
Imo its simple. If you have a vagina use womens and if you have penis use mens. Only after the surgery and you "legally" change your anatomy and identity should that person be allowed to use the other genders bathroom.

I support states rights over federal government on 100% of issues. I support the individual over the states.

You think slavery should be a states rights issue?
