I'm just curious...

I see that Cleveland to Columbus is only a couple hours...a little less than that to get from Columbus to Cincinnati.

For those of you who live in one of the major OH cities (including Toledo, Dayton, etc.) how often do you guys visit the other big OH cities? Is it common for people who live in OH to travel outside of their city or do the larger and largish cities cater to just about your every need?

My work takes me to all the big cities in Ohio and I have family in all 3 so I am in all 3 big C's quite often. Best of all worlds if you ask me. During my 20's, I never went to Cbus or Cincy when living in Cleveland but a few times. Talk about missing out. My findings are that a majority of people will very rarely visit CLE or Cbus if they live in Cincy and vice versa. A damn shame too. Not really getting the most out of what this great state has to offer.

I have to be in downtown Dayton twice a week for work, I don’t get much time off work so I rarely leave Lebanon.

I live in Cincinnati and have for most of my life other than a year in Cleveland. I like to visit Columbus and Cleveland whenever possible. I had a friend who lived in Columbus for about six years so I got to know the city fairly well. They're all unique, far enough apart to be feel like you're far from home, but close enough to be cheap to visit.

I’m also in Cincinnati. I know plenty of people in the Cincinnati area who have never visited Cleveland, and have maybe visited Columbus once or twice. I’ve been to all the large cities in Ohio. I go to Cleveland Columbus several times a year for both family reasons and recreation. I also like going to Dayton for the bike trails and Dorothy Lane Market.

Hell, I know people here who have never been to any other city in Ohio, but have been to Lexington plenty of times. A lot of Cincinnatians from what I’ve seen tend to “look” south, and don’t see any reason to go north of 275.

I always wondered why a lot of people in Cincy don't visit Cleveland?

True. Most Cincy natives go south for vacations and weekend getaways.

Ignorance, stereotypes, and just a lack of curiosity.

Maybe it's because Columbus, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, Knoxville, and Nashville all have things that Cleveland has, but are closer, and that if you're going to go that far, you might as well go to Chicago or Atlanta.
