Hey all

I will be passing though Northern Ohio next week, one of these two routes:

Any suggestions on where to stop for dinner, maybe a good BBQ place? I seemingly will be more towards the NW part of the state (left of the pic) evening time.

Thanks!

Since you’ll be in NW OH at dinner time…

Not BBQ per se…but the famous original Tony Packo’s in Toledo. Known especially for their sausage and sauce.

Disclaimer, this is old school immigrant fare, in a suitably old school building and neighborhood. Not uppity. Not for everyone.

Made famous by Klinger on the TV show M.A.S.H.

You'll be going close by Oak and Embers: http://oakandembers.com/wp-content/u...rHudsonSML.pdf

May be a good option for you if the timing is right. Good luck. Now you got me all worked up for BBQ today.

Default City BBQ

There's a City BBQ in Strongsville and Fairlawn (Akron). City BBQ is a Columbus chain, but I've always enjoyed it. They have very good sides.

You can search yelp.com and/or tripadvisor.com for the best BBQ restaurants in any city. I'm not familiar with Strongsville, Hudson, Akron (your southern route), or Youngstown restaurants. Hudson is one of the more upscale communities in northeast Ohio and so may have better restaurants.

Thanks!

Looked at the Tony Packo’s menu, and it's not my thing. Almost looks like a glorified Burger King.

Was really looking forward to cockeyebbq after watching their promo vid, but they are closed Mon and Tues :/

Ate at Oak and Embers. Brisket, M&C, and Str Beans. Food was edible, but not very good.

Found a place in PA on the way back called Curts Ribs. Had a rack of ribs that was fantastic.

Cheers.
