Southwest. No question.
Central is better than people give it credit for.
Southeast is the worst.

When I lived in Ohio, it was the Northeast: Massillon, Cleveland St. Ignatius, Y-town Boardman and Mooney. I'm sure the powers there are different now, but I still voted Northeast.

NE Ohio for sure! Ignatius, St. Ed's, Glenville, Warren Harding, Massillon Washington, Youngstown Mooney and Ursuline, Canton McKinley, these are probably the top tier schools most years..........Harding has been struggling of late. Then you have some other schools are in and out of the top tier and some are a little smaller..........Solon, Austintown Fitch, Boardman, Poland, Mentor Lake Catholic, Niles McKinley, Howland, Akron Hoban and Buchtel, Steubenville.
The only SW teams i ever hear about are Cincinnati Moeller, Colerain, Xavier and Elder and i can't remember Moeller being good for a very long time..........i'm sure there are some decent Dayton area schools and i maybe forgetting a few others, but Northeast Ohio is a hotbed of high school football, no doubt about it.
I get all my Ohio High School Football News from Ohio High School Sports: Football, Basketball, Wrestling, Scores, Rankings - JJHuddle's Ohio High

No offense, but the only NE schools I recognized were Glenville and McKinley. I personally think that you only get exposure to your district unless you go to states year after year. That's coming from someone who went to a high school that has had one winning season in 20+ years. It probably is a toss up between NE and SW Ohio.
By the way, is this just division I, or are we crossing all division lines?

I am not sure, but SW Ohio seems like it would have bigger school districts than NE Ohio.
Not like this counts in this subject, but what region has a bigger population?

I think you can make an argument for either the Northeast or the Southwest, both regions have good football teams. Historically, the notheast with Canton Mckinley, Massillon Washington and Steubenville Big Red has had the best football teams.

^^^^ I would think NE Ohio has a larger population. Clleveland, Akron, Canton and Youngstown as opposed to Cincy and Dayton.
SW Ohio also has St Henry's and Coldwater. St Henry's has a population of 2000 but has sent players to Ohio State and Penn State. Bobby Hoying and Jeff Hartings were both NCAA all-americans from there. That leaugue is probably the best small school league in the country. The Cincinnati Catholic League is probably the best city league in the country. Coldwater has been ranked as a top 20 team nationally by USA Today and Rivals.
Heisman Trophy winners that I can think of without looking it up.
NorthWest: Charles Woodson
Central: Archie Griffin, Howard Cassady
SouthWest: ????????
NorthEast: Troy Smith, Desmond Howard, Les Horvath
I still go with SouthWest. As the best region in the country for high school football.
Thanks for the link Cortland Girl. I'll have to check that out.
