Hello- I have never been to the city and I was thinking of moving to the downtown area to attend school. I was wondering if you would consider the metro/capital area biking friendly. (bike lanes etc...) Thanks

In my opinion, no, not in the least. However the people you need to ask are at Schlegel's bike shop at 900 North Broadway. They are very active in the cycling community of OKC and could answer any questions you might have.

The metro area? Eh, probably not. Lots of people do bike here and new trails are being installed, but its probably in its infancy compared to most cities. It is starting to become popular though. My boss commutes from May and 122nd to Midtown on his bike in the spring and fall.

If you are in downtown, there has been lots of new bike lanes installed due to Project 180 and believe it or not I actually do see quite a few people using them.

I'm assuming you would be going to OUHSC. That is probably "bikeable" from most parts of downtown.

You could probably hit up the OK Bicycling Society for more info.
