I know this question has been asked many times. But my husband has 2 interviews with 2 different companies in the OKC area. And I'm looking for which areas would be best for a young family with a baby and 2 dogs. We would rent for about a year to learn more about the area before we would buy. But which areas would be good or which areas should we stay away from? Thanks

Its been discussed here before, but the general rule of thumb is to stay away from NE OKC and SE OKC (The part of SE still in Oklahoma county).

I might be off a little, but If you can still see the Devon tower from your house, keep moving.

Moore is a nice, family-oriented community. SW OKC, also known as west moore is also very nice. Make sure you are south of I-240 though. North of I-240 it gets ghetto very fast.

Way off. You can see the Devon Tower clearly from Heritage Hills, Crown Heights, and Nichols Hills, and I don't think anyone is going to mistake those areas for a rough parts of town.

If you desire suburban living and want to be close, Moore, East Norman, Choctaw and Midwest City east of Doulgas Blvd and South of Reno are all good choices.

Wrong. You can see the Devon Tower all the way out in Edmond. I can't see it from my house, because of the trees, but I can drive just a mile from there to the first major intersection in town, and look to the south and see it.

OKC is only 2871 miles farther from Russia than Wasilla, Alaska.
