can't afford high rent but need a child friendly low crime area
Just moved here a month ago and we are having a hard time finding a place to rent that accomodates our needs without going into a bad part of town. Fiance works in Oklahoma City and dont want to stray too far from his work. Does anyone know where there is a nice place about 500 a month and is not in a bad part of town please help we need a place as soon as possible

I used to live in some apartments at NW Expressway and Meridian right behind the Braums. I cant remember the name of them, but you should drive by there and check them out. They are older apartments, so you will have some maintenance issues, BUT they are really quiet, gated and cheap. This has been a couple of years ago, but I had a 3 bedroom for 550 a month, and it was big with washer/dryer hook up. I had no problem with crime. It is not by a bunch of other apartments. A nice neighborhood is behind there. Good Luck!

I would also recommend parts of NW okc. We lived at macarthur and britton for a while and never had a crime problem. We also lived farther north at macarthur and 122nd and never had problems either- finding something for $500 is difficult even there but if you do your research you can find something affordable.

You can also check on line and do some calling ahead of time which will save you gas (which we all need right now). I have lived in the Oklahoma City area for 10+ years and the nicest places for the best rent is gonna be around 122nd and britton, hefner, penn ave. Good luck and happy hunting.

check into the village, around britton and penn etc. there are usually lots of houses for rent in the area. I just moved out of a house located off britton between penn and may. it was around 800 square ft. 2 bedrooms, nice yard. 600 month. some streets in the village look a little worse than others but I never had any problems and always felt very safe- and i'm single in my mid 20's.
