I felt a couple tremors since I've been here. The first one was last summer and the second one was earlier this year.
At first I thought, "earthquakes in Oklahoma?" but then what else could they have been?
I watched and listened to see if they were reported, but nothin' was mentioned.

We have had a little more "activity" than usual lately... what I find odd is they are all in the same area and none are near the fault-line by Meers. Isn't that the only fault line in OK??

Last 30 days:

2009/12/13 08:38:25 35.58N 97.27W 5 3.4 OKLAHOMA 25 km (15 miles) ENE of OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma

2009/12/12 11:34:05 35.55N 97.31W 5 3.1 OKLAHOMA 20 km (15 miles) ENE of OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma

2009/12/11 14:00:17 35.58N 97.32W 5 2.8 OKLAHOMA 20 km (15 miles) NE of OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma

2009/12/07 17:44:25 35.55N 97.25W 5 3.5 OKLAHOMA 25 km (15 miles) ENE of OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma

2009/11/25 16:51:39 35.53N 97.27W 5 2.1 OKLAHOMA 25 km (15 miles) ENE of OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma

2009/11/23 05:47:12 35.49N 97.23W 5 2.6 OKLAHOMA 25 km (15 miles) E of OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma

Wonder if there is any drilling or blasting going on in that area?

We're used to tremors that rattle the windows! Happens everytime Ft. Sill starts playing with the "Big Toys"

I can tell the difference. You should be able to tell the difference between a "distant impact " and a "rolling tremor".

Those ENE of OKC could be a fat lady square dancing.

There are something like 27 tecktonic plates, all shifting and moving constantly. Kodiak, while I was there, averaged about 5/day, but only rarely were they strong enough to be felt. I've never heard of any other state having an Earthquake Park, either, like the one in Anchorge. I jusr didn't think about it. One of the worst I've felt wasn't even in AK anyway, it was in Washington.
